Verbier ski instructor training

BASI Level 3 Instructor Course student

After completing my BASI level 1&2 in France I found myself finishing off the season here in Verbier/ la Tzoumas where my love of the area started. Meeting Jon on the lift he got me thinking ahead for the following season, so I started to look into my future with Altitude and booked on to train for my ISIA.

Ski Dubai

Sadly while working the summer in Ski Dubai I injured my knee, so had to postpone my season with altitude. So after a long recovery I finally made it back to Verbier. After a massive build up of excitement and apprehension training with altitude has failed to disappoint, and has been an amazing experience.

Supportive group, trainers and colleagues

Very nervous about getting back on my skis I couldn’t ask for a more supportive group of trainers and colleagues helping me build up my courage again. Although not all my exams this season have been a success I definitely feel well and truly on the way to completing all my goals as an instructor. I would recommend joining altitude futures to anyone looking at taking their skiing to the next level, as I know I will definitely be flying back from Australia for more fun and training with Altitude.

BASI ISIA Level 3… my first season training in Verbier.

Having just completed my BASI Level 2 course and spent two and a half months in the mountains I wanted to make the right choice to grow into the role of a ski instructor and carry on improving my skiing and teaching. I loved my level 1 and 2 training and I wanted to learn more.

After growing up surrounded by enthusiastic skiers and qualifying as a level 2 instructor in the Canadian system, training towards my level three was the obvious next step. After hearing high praises about the altitude ISIA and level 3 training programme from other Canadian qualified Europe based instructors, I didn’t hesitate to book my place, and spend my third ski instructing season in Verbier. Although it is a BASI focussed training programme, the trainers were very open minded and interested in the CSIA system and the type of skiing focuses and objectives that they have.
