Altitude is the most established and experienced Ski Instructor Training provider in Verbier. We have been training ski instructors for more than 20 years and our team of top qualified coach’s and BASI Trainers always make a real commitment to help you maximize your improvements, have lots of fun and achieve your goals.

Sam Goodlass

BASI Examiner, BASI 4, Pulse Snowsports Coach

Sam is our Verbier Ski School Manager and heads up our coaching team. As one of Verbier’s top skiers he is always trying to help others reach the next level.

Jon West

Jon is the Ski School director and after spending 24 years in Verbier he still cant believe how lucky we all are to breath this fresh air and be surrounded by these beautiful lakes and mountains.

Anthony is from the UK but now lives in Verbier all the year. A talented skier and a previous student on the futures courses. He is very empathetic to the experience that you will be going through during your time on our courses.

Will works for our school in Zermatt and as a guest coach in Verbier he heads up our level 3 and Gap Course bumps clinincs.

Remy Guillaume-Gentil

Federal Swiss Instructor, PSIA, ISIA, French Moniteur National

Remy has years of experience to share with his students and has coached many young ski instructors to bring them up to the highest level of certification. Remy runs our Off-Piste Courses in Verbier.

MARINA MOLNAR

Argentinian Trainer and Demo Team Member

Marina is new to our team but has lots of experience. She trains and examines students for their ski exams at level 1, 2 and 3 in the Argentinian system. She also runs her own indoor climbing centre in Portugal.

Alex Hernandez

Swiss Brevet Federal, Mountain Guide

Alex is a keen mountaineer, climber and is currently training to become a Mountain Guide. He lives in Chamonix (close to Verbier) , and has taught and coached for Altitude for many years. This year he is helping with the Off-Piste Course.

Lauma ILDENA

Swiss Brevet, Austrian Staadlich

Lauma coaches on the level 3 work and train program. She is top certified in Austria, France and Switzerland and is also a qualifed Physio.

ChRIS HULANDs (AKA DERBY)

BASI 4 Teach, ISIA, Boss des Boss Competitor

Chris has been coaching in Verbier for over 10 years and is one of our most popular coach’s. He’s also a keen mogul skier and has represented Verbier in the Boss des Boss moguls competition.

EMILY POCOCK

BASI Examiner, BASI 4, Swiss Brevet Federal, NZSIA Trainer

Emily has taught all over the world in both hemispheres and recently became a NZSIA Trainer. Coming from a racing background she has a great eye for developing skiers to reach their full potential.

PK is One of the most experienced Ski Coach’s you are likely to meet. Peter is a guest coach and works with us during certain weeks of the season. He has a wealth of experience teaching and examining students for BASI and NZSIA.

Accommodation in verbier

Our most popular accommodation choice over the last 22 years with our students has been our private Swiss chalets option. This allows you to stay with 8-14 other trainee instructors together in a typical Swiss Verbier chalet.
