GAP course 2013-2014 – Blog 1

BASI training verbier

Arrived in Verbier on the Sunday evening and after meeting some of the Instructors we quickly got settled into the chalet and our rooms, home for the next 10 weeks….

We were soon sat round for our first meal together- Spag Bol, immediately testing everyone’s table manners! Before we knew it we were at the pub for welcome drinks with the Altitude team getting familiar with what would no doubt be a regular venue. Skied hard everyday of the first two weeks, getting used to some of the requirements for level 1 working on things like Carving, Short turns and Teaching skills. Almost each day has been sunshine and blue skies, more like spring skiing. The Brits among us had thankfully left the weather at home.

We are very lucky to have a couple of great French Chalet hosts, Vincent and Jeannot, knocking up some pretty hearty meals every morning and night. Although they can’t quite get their heads round how much tea the Brits actually drink…
